The Surface Explorer is used to browse the folder structure while displaying thumbnail images of any surface data files on the disk.  Simply use the treeview control as you would do in Windows Explorer to navigate the folder structure.  When a folder is selected, any surface data files that are located within the folder will be displayed as a thumbnail image in the area to the bottom or right of the treeview control.

To open a file, click it's thumbnail image and select the Open toolbar button or right-click on the imgae and select the Open menu option.

To move up one level in the directory structure, click the 'Up One Level' toolbar button.

To change the size of the thumbnail images, select the small, medium, or large toolbar buttons.
