Resampling Utility

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The Resampling Utility dialog is used to change the number of rows and/or columns used in the representation of the surface.  There are two methods available for recomputing the surface samples: Linear Interpolation and Bicubic Interpolation.  The target number of rows and columns are entered into the corresponding fields.  Typically the linear interpolation method is used.  In linear interpolation, two source data points are used to find one the destination point. In cubic interpolation, you use four source points to find one destination point.  Each new sample point is created from twice as many source points, and a cubic equation can model mathematical relationships in data better than a simple line can.
