The Skin Sciences Institute, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Research Foundation, have done extensive research regarding the quantification of cellulite. A set of noninvasive biophysical measurements were made of cellulite-affected tissue to determine the specific factors that contribute to cellulite severity. The surface morphology was quantified using a novel, non-contact three-dimensional laser scanning system to generate surface roughness parameters and provide a standardized measure of severity.
